The Qilu Special Economic Zone in Svay Rieng province currently hosts 35 active factories representing a cumulative investment capital of approximately $1.5 billion. The milestone figures were highlighted during a ceremonial event featuring the planting of 2,200 trees and the distribution of 16,000 saplings at the zone’s site in Svay Toea Sangkat, Svay Rieng City, Svay Rieng province. The environmental initiative was held on September 20, 2026, under the high presidency of Samdech Men Sam An, Privy Councillor to His Majesty the King.

The tree planting and sapling distribution campaign represents a concrete action to expand green canopy coverage within industrial areas as Svay Rieng province experiences rapid industrial development and investment expansion. By allocating 16,000 saplings to municipal and district administrations across the province, organizers aimed to extend tree-planting efforts beyond the special economic zone into surrounding communities. The initiative fosters a unified movement to preserve the natural environment and increase local green cover, demonstrating how industrial growth can be harmonized with environmental protection in line with sustainable development principles that balance manufacturing competitiveness with public well-being and ecological health.

Since entering the Cambodian market in 2017, Qilu Special Economic Zone’s operating company has invested $51 million in zone infrastructure. Today, the 35 factories situated within the zone employ more than 20,000 workers and represent a total capital value of roughly $1.5 billion.
