SSEZ to Build Second Phase Industrial Park to Accommodate 300 Factories

The Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) is in the stage of preparing for the construction of the second phase of the industrial park, which can accommodate up to 300 factories and enterprises.

According to the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, the first phase of the SSEZ’s industrial park has been completed, accommodating 170 companies, which has generated nearly 30,000 jobs for locals.

When phase II is completed, it is expected to accommodate up to 300 enterprises, creating jobs for 80,000 to 100,000 people, according to the embassy.

In the first quarter of 2022, total amounts of imports and exports reached US$710 million, an increase of 50.74% compared to the same period in 2021. (Read more)
