Sunwah Group Eyes Electric Vehicle Assembly Investment in Cambodia

Sunwah Group is considering investing in the assembly of electric vehicles in Cambodia, exploring the sector’s potential with keen interest. Representatives from SUN WAH PROPERTIES (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD. recently met with HE Nuth Un Vanra, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Committee of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), to discuss these investment opportunities on 10  July 2024.

The meeting highlighted the Royal Government’s supportive policies and the promising prospects for electric vehicle assembly in Cambodia, as announced recently.

During the meeting, HE Nuth Un Vanra outlined the significant potential and investment opportunities within Cambodia’s electric vehicle sector, emphasizing the recently implemented support policies. Sunwah Group’s interest in this priority investment activity has led them to study the feasibility and details of assembling electric vehicles in the country.

HE Nuth Un Vanra welcomed Sunwah Group’s investment interest, expressing hope that the company would generate employment and contribute to Cambodia’s industrial development.

The CDC provided detailed information on the legal framework, policies, and regulations favorable to investment in the electric vehicle sector. This includes the Cambodia Investment Law, the roadmap for developing the automotive and electronics sectors, and Cambodia’s National Policy on the development of the electric vehicle sector 2024-2030. The CDC assured the company of its readiness to support and facilitate these investment projects.
