Sihanoukville Ready for US$40 Million Steel Plant Investment

In a significant move that promises to reshape Sihanoukville’s economic trajectory, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), has granted an investment project registration certificate to “HUALE STEEL (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD.” The company is embarking on a transformative journey to establish a versatile steel plant within the Sihanoukville Port Special Economic Zone, according to a CDC press release on 20 September 2023.

This remarkable endeavour, with an investment capital of approximately US$40 million, holds the potential to usher in a new era of industrial progress in the region. Notably, the project is not only set to bolster economic prospects but also create opportunities for the local workforce, with the creation of 523 jobs.

As the steel plant takes shape, it will undoubtedly catalyse socio-economic development, fortify Cambodia’s industrial landscape, and reaffirm the nation’s position as an attractive destination for forward-looking investors.
