US-Cambodia Trade Relations Take a Positive Turn

 

In a significant move to bolster economic ties, the US Congress has thrown its full support behind expanding trade and investment activities in Cambodia. This commitment was solidified during a meeting on 16 May 2025, between the Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia and US Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne.

Both parties expressed enthusiasm for promoting US investments in Cambodia, emphasizing the potential for deeper cooperation in key sectors. Congresswoman Van Duyne highlighted the importance of exploring new avenues for investment, aiming to elevate the economic partnership between the two nations.

In an encouraging sign of economic momentum, the Council for the Development of Cambodia reported approving 231 investment projects in the first four months of 2025, amassing an impressive USD 3.4 billion. This marks a remarkable increase of 103 projects—an astonishing 80% growth compared to the same period last year.
