US$600bn Smart City Project Neither Approved nor Confirmed by Koh Kong Authority

Bilderberg Investment Group has recently announced plans to invest US$600 billion in establishing a smart city on 120,000 hectares of land in Koh Kong province, but the provincial authority has yet to confirm or receive information regarding this project.

The company announced the project to the local press last week, naming it AHNAKOT, a large-scale mixed-use development project.

However, in the press conference, the company has not specified the investment location, investment certificate, application to relevant institutions, or timeline of the project yet.

Regarding this announcement, Mr Sok Sothy, Deputy Governor of Koh Kong Province, said on Tuesday 8 February the provincial administration has yet to approve or confirm the project as the authority has not received any information from the company yet.

The US$600 billion investment is super large, or almost 24 times the size of Cambodia’s GDG in 2020.
