Vietnam Unveils Remarkable US$82 Million Investment in the Tallest Steel Arch Bridge

Vietnam has made a significant investment exceeding US$82 million towards the construction of an awe-inspiring steel arch bridge, poised to become the tallest of its kind, with an impressive height of 87 meters above the water level. The eagerly anticipated Phat Tich Bridge, situated in the northern province of Bac Ninh, spans across the majestic Duong River, a tributary of the renowned Red River, which traverses from Southwest China through northern Vietnam and into the Gulf of Tonkin.

Commencing its construction in 2018, the Phat Tich Bridge has reached an impressive milestone, with the project currently 90% complete and scheduled for its grand opening at the end of June. The estimated total cost of this monumental endeavor stands at approximately VND1.927 trillion (equivalent to US$82.6 million).

Boasting a robust reinforced concrete structure, the bridge stretches over a length of 1.5 kilometers, encompassing well-designed leading roads, spanning an impressive width of 22.5 meters. The Phat Tich Bridge is thoughtfully crafted to accommodate the needs of both vehicular traffic, with four spacious lanes, and pedestrians, offering dedicated walking paths on either side.

Upon its completion, the Phat Tich Bridge will play a pivotal role in enhancing connectivity within the Red River Delta, serving as a vital link between the esteemed capital city of Hanoi, the bustling port city of Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh Province. Moreover, the bridge will strengthen the ties between these thriving hubs and the northeastern provinces of Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, and Hai Duong, fostering economic growth and facilitating seamless transportation for the region.
