Gov’t Plans to Transform Run Ta Ek Area into Run Ta Ek City with Robust Infrastructure

In a visionary initiative, the Cambodian government is set to transform the Run Ta Ek area into a bustling urban center, aptly named Run Ta Ek City. Samdech Hun Manet unveiled this ambitious plan during a gathering with residents of Run Ta Ek village on 8 December 2023, in Siem Reap province.

Expressing the government’s commitment to enhancing the lives of the residents in the Run Ta Ek area, Samdech Hun Manet outlined a strategic roadmap for the medium and long term. The primary focus is on generating employment opportunities, ensuring sustainable development, and creating a model rural town with modern amenities.

Samdech Thipdey directed the Ministry of Land Management and associated institutions to provide essential services, emphasizing the application of sustainable principles in village planning. The objective is to elevate the quality of life through an improved environment and public services.

Furthermore, the government aims to attract investors for the establishment of industrial plants, fostering economic growth and job creation in the Run Ta Ek area. Samdech Hun Manet affirmed the commitment to comprehensive infrastructure development, including roads, sewer systems, schools, hospitals, markets, electricity, water supply, sanitation facilities, and diverse transportation options.
