Cambodia Earns Nearly US$23m from Angkor, Koh Ker, and Boat Ride Tickets in First Five Months of 2024

In the first five months of 2024, Cambodia generated US$22,759,098 from the sale of tickets to Angkor, Koh Ker, and boat rides, according to a report by the Angkor Institute on 1 June 2024. This impressive revenue highlights the growing attraction of Cambodia’s historical and cultural sites.

The report details that during this period, Cambodia welcomed 472,258 foreign tourists, resulting in US$22,206,891 in revenue from Angkor ticket sales alone, marking a 38.22% increase compared to the same period last year. Specifically, in May 2024, the Angkor Institute earned US$2,289,358 from 50,879 foreign visitors to Angkor Resort, reflecting a 12.52% rise from May 2023.

Additionally, the report indicated that ticket sales for the Koh Ker temple in the first five months amounted to US$151,905, while revenue from boat ticket sales reached US$400,302. These figures underscore the continued popularity and economic significance of these attractions.

Admission fees for international tourists to Angkor are set at US$37 per day, US$62 for a three-day pass, and US$72 for a week-long pass, contributing substantially to the overall tourism revenue.
