Airport Operator SCA Plans Expansion into Cambodia’s Logistics Sector and Supply Chain Connectivity

Newly appointed CEO Julien Bert meets with investment officials to discuss Sihanoukville airport development and supply chain integration as Cambodia strengthens investor confidence

Société Concessionnaire de l’Aéroport (SCA), Cambodia’s long-standing airport operator, is seeking to expand its investment footprint into the Kingdom’s logistics sector to support sustainable economic growth and strengthen regional supply chain connectivity. The strategic expansion plans were detailed on August 5, 2026, during an official meeting between Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Cambodian Investment Board at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and newly appointed SCA Chief Executive Officer Julien Bert.

During the engagement, Julien Bert presented operational updates regarding the ongoing development of Sihanouk International Airport, a key aviation gateway serving Cambodia’s coastal industrial and tourism hubs. Outlining the company’s long-term vision, Bert shared plans to diversify into logistics and supply chain services, aiming to bolster regional trade flows and enhance overall transport efficiency across the nation.

Welcoming the expansion initiative, Chea Vuthy praised SCA’s decades-long contribution to developing Cambodia’s aviation and tourism infrastructure. He reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to upgrading transport networks and improving national logistics systems, emphasizing that these structural enhancements are key to elevating Cambodia’s global competitiveness, attracting foreign direct investment, and expanding tourism development.

Furthermore, CDC leadership highlighted the Royal Government’s firm enforcement measures in cracking down on technology-based online scams. Chea Vuthy noted that these decisive anti-crime campaigns have played a vital role in restoring Cambodia’s international reputation, strengthening global investor confidence, and ensuring a safe, secure environment for international business operations and visiting tourists.

Recently, the WorldBridge Group and Cambodia Airports, a subsidiary of VINCI Airports, signed a memorandum of understanding. This agreement aims to jointly explore the potential for establishing an air cargo hub, warehouse, and related business activities at Sihanoukville International Airport. (read more)
