Cambodia’s transport and logistics sector has reached a transformative milestone as two corporate powerhouses join forces to establish a premier multimodal trade hub in coastal Preah Sihanouk province. On July 21, 2026, Cambodian conglomerate WorldBridge Group and Cambodia Airports, a subsidiary of global operator VINCI Airports, signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding to conduct a joint feasibility study on developing a modern air cargo hub, specialized warehousing facilities, and associated commercial activities at Sihanoukville International Airport. The signing ceremony was held under the high presidency of Mao Havannall, Minister in charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation.

The core ambition of this strategic partnership is to assess the viability of a seamless multimodal logistics corridor that directly integrates maritime and aviation transport networks. By bridging the deep-sea port facilities of Sihanoukville with the expanding air freight capabilities at Sihanoukville International Airport, the project seeks to establish an efficient sea-air gateway for regional and international trade. This unified corridor will streamline supply chain operations, significantly enhancing cargo handling capacity and reducing transit times for time-sensitive exports and imports.

Both the Royal Government of Cambodia and the participating companies anticipate that this integrated hub will serve as a vital catalyst for national economic growth. By modernizing national logistics infrastructure, the initiative is expected to strengthen export capacity, attract higher foreign direct investment, generate valuable employment opportunities, and elevate Cambodia’s strategic role as a major regional logistics and trade node.
