Cambodia to promote sustainable beach development

Cambodia will expand cooperation with other coastal members to ensure further development of its coastline.

Minister of Land Management Urban Planning and Construction HE Chea Sophara said on 13 December that joining the Club of the Most Beautiful Beaches in the World will drive a new turning point for Cambodia, both in terms of socio-economic aspects, tourism, urbanization and the environment.

He added that Cambodia will strive to fulfil this mission with high responsibility to ensure the sustainable development of beaches.

Cambodia Beach was included as a member of the most beautiful beach club in the world during the 7th General Assembly of this beach club on May 26, 2011, in Tobago, Senegal. The common name is “Cambodia Bay” and is nicknamed “Cambodia Bay or Southwest Star”.
