Cambodia Urges Resumption of Direct Flights from Japan to Cambodia

Cambodia has asked Japan to help revive ANA direct flights from Tokyo to Phnom Penh after being suspended during the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a meeting between Cambodia’s Minister of Tourism HE Thong Khon and Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia Mikami Masahiro on 29 November.

The minister said that Japan has now reopened direct flights with some other countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, and so on. Thus, Cambodia should be the next destination.

In response, the Ambassador of Japan pledged to continue his efforts to further expand good relations and cooperation with Cambodia, especially in relation to the resumption of ANA direct flights to Cambodia.

It should be informed that in the first 10 months of 2022, Japan received more than 7,000 Cambodian tourists, while Cambodia received more than 19,000 Japanese tourists in the same period.
