Chroy Changva Bridge Reopens After $33m of Japanese-funded Renovations

After two years of renovation, the Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge in Chroy Changva has been officially opened by Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen and Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E Hidehisa Horinouchi who jointly presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge has been renovated using around US$33 million in funds from the Japanese government through its development agency, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). (Read more)

Throughout this renovation process, Japan has used the latest technology on including the use of metallic particles. (Read more)

The Chroy Changva area currently has two bridges crossing the Tonle Sap River, namely the US$27.5 million Cambodia-China Friendship Bridge (Chroy Changvar 2), and the Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge. The Cambodian government is currently requesting South Korea to help construct a new bridge in Phnom Penh. (Read more)
