French Investor Proposes Large-Scale, Tech-Driven Tourism Park Near Angkor Wat

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – A French investment firm, ARGUENDO Film, has proposed developing a major new tourism park in Siem Reap province. The proposed attraction would be Cambodia’s first of its kind, uniquely blending state-of-the-art technology with the historical significance of the Angkor Wat World Heritage Site.

The plan was presented during a discussion on November 23, 2025, between H.E. Hout Hak, Minister of Tourism, and Mr. Philippe Vidal, President of ARGUENDO Film.

During the meeting, the representative of the French company provided a detailed presentation on the concept for the large-scale tourism park. The design is intended to be unique within Cambodia, focused on linking the world heritage site of Angkor Wat with the latest advanced technology. The park is projected to attract nearly 300,000 visitors annually to Siem Reap Province.

Mr. Vidal described the planned attraction as a value-added tourism product that connects the World Heritage Site with historical and ancient stories in an engaging new way. The Minister of Tourism, H.E. Hout Hak, welcomed the company’s interest and encouraged the investment, emphasizing that the project aligns perfectly with the ministry’s policy to promote high-quality, sustainable tourism products that diversify Cambodia’s offerings beyond its temples.

The Ministry affirmed its readiness to provide support, cooperation, and facilitation to ensure the success of the investment project.
