A famous three-story floating restaurant on a lake in Hong Kong sunk after its owner went bankrupt.

Floating for four decades on Aberdeen Harbor Lake, Jumbo Floating Restaurant has been under financial turmoil for more than two years, with the owner unable to continue operating.

Classic Chinese style, the floating restaurant is not only a place to serve traditional Chinese food but also an attractive tourist landscape for Hong Kong people and foreign tourists.

South China Morning Post reported that the owner of Jumbo Floating Restaurant had purposely handed over the floating restaurant to someone else that rejected it, stating that the cost of managing the restaurant and the maintenance service were too high in cost.

Local authorities have reportedly investigated the sinking of the floating restaurant, which occurred on May 31, when no one has been confirmed in the sinking accident, the source said.
