This initiative, aimed at broadening medical cooperation and increasing Japanese investment in the Kingdom, was the primary focus of a high-level discussion held on March 24, 2026. The meeting brought together His Excellency Koy Vanny, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, and Mr. IWAKI Mitsuhide, the former Japanese Minister of Justice and current President of the Cambodia-Fukushima Friendship Association.

During the exchange, both parties deliberated on several key pillars for advancing the health sector, including the development of specialized health services, human resource training, and the sharing of advanced medical expertise. A central theme of the dialogue was the continuous improvement of treatment quality, ensuring that healthcare delivery in Cambodia meets international benchmarks.
