Monument Aux Morts Rebuilt​ in Phnom Penh

The “Roup Pi” statue or Monument aux Morts, a memorial to those who died in World War I, has been rebuilt at the French Embassy in Phnom Penh. 

The ground-breaking ceremony for this monument was held on 25 January under the auspices of Deputy Prime Minister and Land Minister HE Chea Sophara and French Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Olivier Becht. 

The monument also strengthens the friendship, friendship, solidarity and historical cooperation between Cambodia and France. 

The statue will be 14.22m wide and 12.74m high showing  Khmer-French soldiers, with designs in Khmer art. (Read more)
