Samdech Hun Sen announces aim to build infrastructure linking Cambodia-Thailand

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen announced his goal on 02 October to build key infrastructures that will connect Cambodia with Thailand.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of about 1,183 students from BELTEI International University, Samdech Techo Hun Sen spoke on the progress of infrastructure development in Cambodia while stating his intention to build more.

“Now, the bridge between Krouch Chhmar and Stueng Trong is soon to be connected…now we connect [infrastructure] to the whole country. Now my intention is to continue connect Cambodia-Thai border [infrastructure connection],” he said.

According to Samdech Hun Sen, the construction of the infrastructure will start from Battambang, connecting to Road No. 57 then from Pursat province linking all the way to the Thmor Da border checkpoint. (Read more)

After having sought investment (read more), Samdech added that “in the future, we will break ground on construction connecting Samlot to Pursat and cut through to Koh Kong to connect as a corridor”.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen stressed that infrastructure is one of the four factors that make it easier for people to travel and ease travelling costs.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also vowed to continue to build more infrastructure in the future.
