Siem Reap Authority Speeds Up Work on Chong Kneas Port Renovation

The Siem Reap Provincial Administration is speeding up the renovation work on the Chong Kneas port so that it can be ready for tourists after the country’s reopening since 1 November.

Siem Reap Governor HE Tea Seiha said during a site visit on 3 November that Chong Kneas port is a potential port to attract tourists to visit the natural beauty of the Tonle Sap Lake.

“As the country is reopening, Siem Reap will attract more tourists. Thus, relevant officers must speed up the renovation of the port in time for early 2022,” said HE Tea Seiha.

Chong Kneas is located in the Tonle Sap Lake natural zone of Sangkat Chong Kneas. In July, the government revoked the investment right from Su Jing Investment Company for tax and regulation violations. (Read more)

Therefore, the port has been placed back under the control of the provincial administration.
