Surge in Visitor Traffic at Bavet International Border Crossing

In 2024, Bavet International Border Crossing welcomed over 1.5 million national and international travelers. Recent reports from Apsara newspaper highlight that in the first 12 months of 2024, the border crossing in Svay Rieng province admitted a remarkable total of 1,578,699 visitors hailing from 172 different countries. This marks an impressive increase of 187,687 visitors, or 16.06%, compared to the previous year.

The figures reveal a significant rise of 263,160 visitors, representing a 19.01% growth compared to the same period in 2023. Additionally, the Bavet International Border Gate facilitated a total of 1,525,143 outbound travelers, with 168 nationalities represented among them. This also reflects a year-on-year increase of 208,604 outbound visitors, marking a 15.84% rise in foreign travelers, with 1,301,290 foreigners from 167 nationalities counted among those departing.

As Cambodia continues to attract visitors from around the globe, the Bavet International Border Crossing remains a key gateway, contributing substantially to the country’s tourism growth and economic development.
