Wanli Tire Nears Completion in Sin Bavet SEZ, Bringing 1,500 Jobs

Cambodia’s drive to attract foreign investment received a boost as H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), met with Mr. You Jinbiao, Chairman of Wanli Tire (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., to review progress on the company’s major factory project in the Sin Bavet Special Economic Zone, Svay Rieng Province.

Construction of the factory, which broke ground in January 2024, is now in its final stages and is expected to begin production soon. Once operational, the plant is set to provide around 1,500 jobs for local workers, along with specialized training programs and opportunities for staff to upgrade their skills in China.

During the meeting, Mr. You Jinbiao expressed gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia, led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, and to all ministries and institutions that supported the project, ensuring smooth progress from groundbreaking to near completion. He also reaffirmed Wanli Tire’s confidence in Cambodia’s investment climate.

H.E. Sun Chanthol welcomed the update, thanking Wanli Tire for its trust and commitment. He emphasized that the CDC will continue to coordinate and support the company’s growth, noting that such investments not only strengthen Cambodia’s industrial base but also create meaningful opportunities for Cambodian citizens.
