China’s Sailun Group to Launch USD 110m SEZ in Kampot Province

Chinese tire manufacturing giant Sailun Group has announced plans to develop an industrial park named the “Cambodia Kampot Special Economic Zone Project” (Kampot SEZ) in Cambodia, backed by an impressive USD 110 million investment.

The new venture will be managed by a wholly-owned subsidiary, Kampot Bay Investment Co., Ltd., established specifically to implement the Kampot SEZ project, according to Tyre Press on 31 October 2024.

Sailun’s expansion into Cambodia builds on its previous investments in the country, where it has already allocated approximately USD 268 million for a truck tire factory alongside its conventional tire manufacturing operations in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province. (Read more)

Sailun also established Cambodia’s first tire production facility, which began operations in late 2021 after a two-year construction period. (Read more)
