90 million Cubic Metres of Land Needed to Fill In Construction Site of Koh Norea and the New Phnom Penh Airport

The Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC) has recently said that over 90 million cubic metres of land is needed to fill in the construction site of the Koh Norea and the new Phnom Penh International Airport project.

OCIC Chairman Neak Oknha Pung Kheav Se said approximately 60 million cubic metres of land is needed for Koh Norea project. Meanwhile, the new Phnom Penh international airport project needs at least 30 million cubic metres or about 20,000 cubic metres per day.

In June, Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen asked OCIC Chairman to dredge the Cherng Laung lake and extract the land to fill the new airport construction project. (Read more)

Meanwhile, Koh Norea is being developed on over 125 hectares of land. Since January, OCIC has to date been building concrete foundations and filling the riverbank with sand and stone to prepare for the main infrastructure. As in October, Koh Norea Satellite city is about 27% complete. (Read more)
