Cambodian Attends 21st APSF General Assembly in Seoul to Drive Regional Logistics Standardization

Public Works Ministry and logistics leaders present national progress on the APSF Roadmap 2030 and explore smart cold-chain systems across South Korea to elevate supply chain efficiency

Seoul: Modernizing national supply chains and harmonizing trade standards remain critical imperatives for the Royal Government of Cambodia as it works to boost economic competitiveness and streamline cross-border commerce across Asia. From September 3 to 4, 2026, Director General of Logistics Sorn Sophyvathie from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport led a high-level government and trade delegation to the 21st General Assembly of the Asia Pallet System Federation (APSF) in Seoul, South Korea. The delegation featured key technical officials, Mr. Chea Chandara, President of the Logistics and Supply Chain Business Association in Cambodia, and private sector representatives.

Hosted by the Korea Pallet Pool Association (KPCA), the regional assembly brought together delegates from member nations across Asia, including South Korea, China, Japan, and ASEAN states such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand. Plenary sessions focused on advancing the APSF Roadmap 2030, managing Unit Load Systems (ULS), promoting regional logistics standardization, and implementing the ASEAN Smart ULS School initiative. During the forum, the Cambodian delegation presented a detailed progress report on Cambodia’s strategic implementation of the APSF Roadmap 2030 and shared insights into the domestic pallet and logistics industry. Delegates also joined official commemorative events celebrating the 30th anniversary of KPCA and the 20th anniversary of the APSF.

To complement the policy discussions, the delegation conducted technical site visits by inspecting operations at the LogisALL Icheon Complex Logistics Center and the KCP Dong-Anseong Cold Chain Center. The field visits allowed Cambodian officials and industry leaders to study advanced warehouse management, cold-chain distribution technologies, and automated cargo handling platforms operating in South Korea.

In this context, Cambodia’s active participation in the 21st APSF General Assembly and technical study tours marks a key milestone in upgrading the country’s logistics infrastructure to meet regional standards. Strengthening public-private collaboration and adopting standardized Unit Load Systems will reduce transit friction, lower supply chain costs, and position Cambodia as an efficient trade hub within the broader ASEAN network.
