Groundbreaking Date of New Offshore Koh Tonsay Port Rescheduled to November

The groundbreaking date of a new tourism port on Koh Tonsay has been postponed from October to early November 2021 due to heavy rains.

A statement signed by HE Suy San, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport dated 18 October to the Kep provincial governor, stated that Vimean Chey Group Co Ltd will start construction of the tourism port in Koh Tonsay Island on 1 November 2021.

The Koh Tonsay port is part of ADB’s Greater Mekong Sub-Region Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth Project Phase II.

The project is costing US$1.6 million and the construction process will take 15 months to complete, which will be in around early 2023. (Read more)

This new port is different from another Koh Tonsay Tourism Port which is located on the Kep province’s mainland and is currently under construction with a completion date expected soon. (Read more)
