In high-level talks with Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, JCA President Takahashi Fumiaki outlines investments in golden silk, tilapia processing, cosmetics education, and automotive maintenance with Toyota
The Japan-Cambodia Association has unveiled a strategic roadmap to broaden its investment footprint in the Kingdom, focusing on key industrial pillars designed to upgrade local agricultural processing and advance technical workforce development. The prospective expansion was presented during an official meeting on September 10, 2026, between Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and a high-level JCA delegation led by its President, Takahashi Fumiaki.
Outlining the association’s strategic priorities, President Takahashi Fumiaki detailed two core focus areas designed to boost bilateral economic synergies. The first initiative centers on establishing processing facilities for high-value agricultural commodities, specifically golden silk products and tilapia fish. By scaling up local processing capabilities, the association aims to meet growing domestic consumption while building export pathways to supply Japanese and global markets.
The second initiative focuses on specialized vocational training and technical capacity building to strengthen Cambodia’s skilled labor force. JCA plans to introduce comprehensive training modules in beauty care and cosmetics, alongside a technical partnership with Toyota to train automotive maintenance technicians across the country. These vocational programs are structured to transfer technical know-how, elevate workforce standards, and support Cambodia’s expanding industrial base.
In response, Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the prospective initiatives, expressing firm confidence that this targeted collaboration will serve as an exemplary model for attracting further Japanese investment. He encouraged the JCA delegation to maintain close coordination with relevant Cambodian ministries and state institutions to ensure the effective execution of these projects. To build further momentum, the delegation announced plans to organize a dedicated investment seminar in Japan to educate Japanese corporate leaders on Cambodia’s investment climate, legal frameworks, and regulatory incentives.
